It was the sort of test that I could have done really well on or really poorly on...I just won't know until I get it back.
The real reason I am writing is to solve my biggest current dilemma. Okay, it's not a major life crisis or anything, but it seems like a big decision to me!
My last final (the second half of Turismo Sostenible) is June 14th and I currently have a plane ticket home for June 30th.
Finding that most of my friends would already be flying home before then, coupled with a sizeable dose of homesickness, led me to question coming home early. Natalia, the girl who I flew here with, is leaving the 13th so I thought about flying home with her. In SEVERAL moments of weakness, I have tossed the idea back and forth.
Yesterday, I met with Kayla for brunch at Cafe Moreno. We realized that we would both be in Murcia from June 15th on...and weren't entirely sure if we were willing to cut our trips short. We tossed around a new idea: "backpacking" through eastern Europe. Possibilities: Turkey (Hagia Sophia), Lithuania (Hill of Crosses), Croatia (Plitvice), Slovenia, maybe Romania, etc. Presumably, we would return to Murcia right at the end to pick up our luggage...then head home!
The verdict is still out on what I will do... but that's basically the current dilemma.
On a pretty note, this is what it looks like in Murcia right about now.

As much as I want to see you (and OH MY GOD I WANT TO SEE YOU SO BAD), backpacking would be one of those amazing opportunities that only present themselves every so often. If you can afford it, I think you should go for it! That way when were older and go backpacking together you'll have some experience : )

Wow I love you so much! I was thinking "I need to find someone that would be like totally unbiased to help me out" and I thought of you. So right! Thanks for your input :)
DeleteDo you have any gear you can rent/borrow? Good backpacking gear is very expensive and its important to get stuff that fits your right. Also haven't you seen Hostel? I think that's what the people are doing who get kidnapped and chopped into little pieces. I love backpacking personally but that might be an intense way to first experience it.
ReplyDeleteYou should wear a sign or something that says "I HAVE NO MONEY" and "I SMELL BAD".

What we are thinking about isn't totally "backpacking". The idea is that we would stay in hostels and stuff and only bring a backpack. We haven't worked anything out yet, but I don't think it would really be backpacking in the traditional sense... hmm!
