I have been unfaithful to my blog...I'm two days behind! I had two super fun nights out and so I have been too burned out to feel like writing. Also, I have spent a good amount of time skyping Ricky over the past two days (which has been awesome :)).

After staying out til 4 AM the night before, I slept in til after 2 PM, and didn't know what to do. It was right in the middle of siesta time so I figured most places (except the main businesses) would be closed. I decided to check off some of the items on my to-do list. I ventured out to the Post Office again to mail Remy's birthday card and to buy some sellos. I went to Stradivarius to return a pair of jeans, and I ended up buying a pair of really cool leather boots (70 euros down to 20 euros)! Corte Ingles was right across the street, so I went there to recharge my phone with more minutes. Realizing I had nothing else to do, I mozied around Corte Ingles for like 45 minutes, just looking at all of the cool stuff they have. As I was flipping through the fancy notebooks and admiring the art supplies, I remembered how Dad used to buy me cool stuff (Kukumuksu notebooks and Stadtler colored pencils, etc) at Corte Ingles on his trips to Spain...so nostalgic and I actually saw many of the same brands! I wanted to buy a notebook so bad (they have pretty, colorful covers and the paper has colored edges) but they were 7-8 euros each :( I can't wait to take Mom and Dad here and try to convince them to buy me things ;)

This whole thing is the post office... |
Later at night, we all met up for tapas around 10pm. It turned out to be such a huge group of us (twenty!) that it was hard to find a place to eat. We asked at Cafe de Arcos if there was enough seating for all of us and they directed us to their restaurant inside the Teatro de Romeo. We were all excited that they opened up the restaurant and moved the tables around just for us; otherwise, it was empty. I met some more exchange students, one from England and a few more Americans. Like always happens when we go out in a big group, the waiter just keeps bringing us tapas and we end up having to pay a lot. We were pretty disappointed at how expensive it was for just bread, tomatoes and olives in olive oil, marineras (the yucky fish slices on top of tuna salad), and some little sandwiches...next time we will go out in smaller groups and ask to look at the menu!

After that we headed to Badaluke, the international bar, because they have free drinks (watery beer and sangria) until they run out. The sangria was tasty but definitely watered down too, but hey, it was free. We hung out there until it got too hot and packed to move. It was a challenge just to shove my way out of the place...fire hazard?
After that, we headed to Plaza de los Toros (the bullfighting ring)
because apparently they have a bar inside the building. It was probably
the coolest bar I have ever been to! The lighting was perfect--colorful
but dim and the bar was backlit to showcase the different colored
bottles of liquor. We didn't drink anything because it was way too
expensive (5 euros for a beer!). Brad showed us how to swing dance, then
we found out there was live music a few rooms over.

That had to be my favorite part. There was a Spanish band playing and
we got to be super close. Everyone was dancing around and having an
awesome time. I had no idea this would all be happening at a
bullfighting arena!
