Dia de San Valentin

Cosmo, 2 boxes mac, conversation hearts, M&Ms, Valentine cakes and more <3
We went to Maxi Kebab for dinner--
I got a kebab rollo de pollo
Yesterday was Valentines, and my parents were the best ever! They sent me a package with lots of wonderful things in it. It definitely made my Valentine's Day so much better. Nothing came from Ricky, but apparently he has sent me two cards which just haven't got here yet...ho hum.

During the day, Suzette, Bobby and I made sangria. It was definitely strong, but now we know how much liquor to add next time (like...a whole cup less!). The flavor was still fruity and tasty though.

Afterwards, we went over to the Elizabeths' for desserts, pastries, tea, coffee and rice milk. It was all so tasty and it definitely satisfied my Valentine's Day sweet tooth. Plus, good conversation is always nice.

Nighthawk left for Almeria this morning as I headed off to class.

Sunset view from my apartment
Today was my busy day, class-wise. I had two hours of Tecnicas de Comunicacion, then an hour break. I headed back to Saborea te y Cafe, the cafe where the nice man gave me travel toothpaste. He commented on my studying (I was highlighting notes for my next class) and I explained that I had an hour break between classes at the tourism school. Then, he totally remembered who I was! It made me so happy when he was like "Oh yeah! You're here from the US until the end of June!"

I had three more classes then I got back to my apartment, totally pooped. When I walked inside, I realized that the cleaning lady had come. She had taken out the recycling, washed the dishes in the sink, washed my sheets, put on new, clean sheets, made my bed, cleaned the entire bathroom (sink, tub/shower, mirror, floor, toilet), cleaned the kitchen, and rearranged the couch pillows and blankets. I still can't believe that is included in the rent for my apartment.

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed the Valentine's Day care package - there's nothing like a little Kraft Mac & Cheese to make you feel like you're at home ;) The cleaning lady sounds wonderful - maybe you can tuck her into your suitcase when it's time to come home?

  2. There is nothing like receiving a card or package in the mail, is there?

  3. I would LOVE to take the cleaning lady home with me. I met her once as I was running out for class, and she was super friendly too!
